Spaghetti bolognese


Hey all…hope you are having a pleasant week so far. I had my niece and 4 of her friends for a few days and this was one of the meals we cooked. I knew I had nailed it when they said ‘this taste better than what they serve in school’ *happydance*; that statement made my day :).

As I had 5 kids below 10 in the house  with no help I knew it had to be something really quick and easy to make.


Prep time: 10mins
Cook time: 20mins
Serves: 6



500g spaghetti
Olive oil
800g beef mince
2 medium red onions,  thinly sliced
400g passata
200g cherry tomato, halved
1 tablespoon ginger and garlic paste
Black pepper
Bunch of parsley, roughly chopped



In a large saucepan with salted boiling water add spaghetti and leave to cook for 15mins. Drain, drizzle with olive oil, mix to avoid spaghetti sticking together and keep warm.

In a heated wok, add 1 cooking spoon of olive oil. Add onions, stir for 40 seconds, add beef mince, season with salt and pepper and leave to cook for 5 minutes or until the meat browns.

Add passata and leave to simmer on low heat for 12mins. Add tomatoes and parsley, leave to cook for 2 minutes. Serve with spaghetti.
